The demand for environmentally friendly and sustainable methods to produce highly specialized products has witnessed substantial growth in recent years. In both academic and industrial procedures, there is a growing request for practices that are greener, ecologically sound, and environmentally acceptable. Among the different strategies employed, the use of enzymes as biocatalysts stands out as a prominent approach. Nature offers a diverse array of enzymes with properties that can be implemented in nearly all known chemical reactions. Furthermore, enzymatic catalysis is frequently utilized alongside aqueous media, which diminishes the environmental footprint. Unfortunately, the limited substrate specificity of most enzymes hampers their broader application in various chemical fields.
